We love the Carolina Beach State Park & are lucky to have such an amazing park only a few miles to the beach! It's also beautifully located right on the waterway for fishing & has acres of wooded areas with walking trails. The marina there is well maintained & easily accessible for boats to enter waterway for a small fee. There are many campground sites located throughout the park & our family has camped there several times. The camping sites are also well maintained, have grills & campfire spots, & several clean bathhouse facilities scattered throughout the camping site areas. We always spot deer roaming the natural wooded areas when we visit. It's an amazing place to go for the day or weekend!

Love camping here. Clean even if slightly older bathrooms. Warm water and soap for your hands, easy access showers. A handful of newer spots have electricity. 4 cute cabins. But mostly plenty of basic campsites with lots of trees and shade. Plus nice paths to hike on in the park along the cut and along the river.

We were thinking of camping here sobwe drove through the park. To our dismay there were only a handful of sites with hookups for a camper. And even those were right on top of one another. The non-electric sites were small and uneven. Large roots were visible which would make backing in difficult. Would not recommend for anything other than tent camping.

We are staying here for several days while passing through NC. Park is clean and busy during open hours. Camp ground is nice and has paved roads, most sites are non-electric with a few cabins and a few electric (20/30/50 amp) full hook up sites. The park has different hours through the year and gates close early in winter. There is no swimming on the beach area marina is clean and staff friendly. You can reserve online (highly recommended) to get the site you want. Bathrooms are clean, but a walk from sites, one handicapped spot has paved walkway to restroom area.

This park is very nice. There is a campground by the Cape Fear River with outdoor grills and tables. There is a marina with two docks and a dock for gas. Many hiking paths with signs to guide you. Beautiful scenery and a short dock for observation. Highly recommend for family fun or just to relax and look at the river. If you need assistance, there is an information building open for limited hours during the day. Park closes at night.
